Hunan Railway Vocational and Technical College

Hunan Railway Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1951. It is a public comprehensive higher vocational college with engineering as the main major and liberal arts, management and economics as the common development majors. In 2009, it passed the acceptance of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance and became one of the first 28 national demonstration higher vocational colleges in the country. In July 2015, it was approved as the first batch of excellent college construction units in Hunan Province. In July 2019, it was selected as a national high-quality higher vocational college. In December 2019, it was selected as one of the 56 high-level higher vocational schools with Chinese characteristics. It has made positive contributions to the economic and social development of the country and Hunan. The school covers an area of ​​908 acres and a total construction area of ​​312,900 square meters. It has nearly 13,000 teachers and students.

The school is deeply engaged in the entire industrial chain of rail transit equipment manufacturing. It has opened 35 higher vocational majors (directions) such as railway locomotive vehicle manufacturing and maintenance, EMU maintenance technology, and urban rail vehicles, forming a professional system covering the manufacturing, application, management and maintenance industry chain of rail transit equipment such as high-speed rail, conventional rail, and subway. Won 5 second prizes for national teaching achievements. It has 5 key construction majors of national demonstration higher vocational colleges supported by the central government, 2 high-level professional groups with Chinese characteristics, 1 national boutique major, 2 national teaching reform pilot majors, 3 national demonstration majors, 3 national teaching resource libraries, 12 national boutique courses, 12 national boutique resource courses, 2 national boutique online open courses, 1 course ideological and political demonstration course of the Ministry of Education, 68 national "12th Five-Year Plan" and "13th Five-Year Plan" planning textbooks, and presided over the development of 3 national professional standards and 3 first-class specialty groups of higher vocational education in Hunan Province.

The school has strong faculty and currently has 3 national teaching teams. Relying on the "National High-speed Railway Equipment Manufacturing Vocational Education Industry-Education Alliance", "Hunan Demonstration Rail Transit Equipment Manufacturing and Application Vocational Education Group" and the Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College jointly established with CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd., we share resources and improve the quality of talent training and service enterprise capabilities. Relying on school-run enterprises, school scientific research and innovation teams and production-oriented training bases, we carry out research and development, technical services and rail traction locomotive parts production for Hunan's rail transit industry worth hundreds of billions of yuan, with an annual output value of 150 million yuan. It has been rated as a pilot school for the Ministry of Education's modern apprenticeship system, a national vocational teacher training base, a national backbone teacher training base, a domestic base for Sino-German teacher training, a national advanced manufacturing technology student training (teacher training) base for higher vocational colleges, and the first batch of "national high-skilled talent training bases".

In the past three years, students have won more than 100 provincial and above skill competition awards. More than 70% of students are trained through modern apprenticeship and other orders, the overall employment rate of graduates is more than 95%, and the employment rate of counterparts is more than 70%. Graduates are mainly employed in CRRC's subsidiaries, 18 railway bureaus and group companies across the country, 27 subway companies, Shenzhen Huawei, Sany Heavy Industry, Siemens of Germany and other companies, and are highly recognized by employers. Over the past 70 years, the school has trained more than 80,000 high-quality talents for the country. According to incomplete statistics, 125 graduates have grown into "national model workers", CRRC's "high-speed rail craftsmen" and national and national technical experts.

The school has established cooperative relations with 30 educational institutions and multinational companies in 13 countries (regions) including Russia, Germany, Thailand, and Malaysia. One railway workshop, one Luban workshop, one overseas branch, and one "Belt and Road" industrial college have been built. There are 8 international professional standards and 20 international courses developed in cooperation. 10 international employee training standards, 10 professional teaching standards, and 20 practical training course standards have been exported. In cooperation with the St. Petersburg State University of Transport in Russia, three Sino-foreign cooperative education majors such as railway locomotives have been opened, with a school scale of 448 people, and a total of 98 international students from 5 countries including Thailand and Bangladesh have been enrolled. More than 3,000 talents in the rail transit industry have been trained for foreign aid projects such as the "Mombasa-Nairobi Railway" and "Belt and Road" countries such as Thailand and Nigeria.
