Changsha Nanfang Vocational College was officially established in 2000. It was approved by the People's Government of Hunan Province in 2003 and registered as a full-time general college by the Ministry of Education. The college is located in the southwest of Yuelu Mountain, in the University Town of Xiangjiang New District, adjacent to the thousand-year-old Yuelu Academy and famous schools such as Central South University, Hunan University, Hunan Normal University, and Hunan University of Chinese Medicine. The college is one of the first batch of higher vocational colleges in Hunan Province that have passed the talent training level assessment. In December 2013, it successfully passed the talent training level assessment of the Ministry of Education again.
