Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was formerly known as Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It was founded in 1956. It was one of the earliest four colleges of traditional Chinese medicine in my country approved by the State Council under the cordial care of the first generation of party and state leaders such as Zhou Enlai. In 1995, it was approved by the former State Education Commission to change its name to its current name. In 2006, the former Sichuan Provincial Health Management Cadre College and Sichuan Reproductive Health College were merged. After more than 60 years of development, the school has become a high-level traditional Chinese medicine university with distinctive characteristics, with traditional Chinese medicine as the main subject, and medical and health-related disciplines and majors supporting each other and developing in a coordinated manner. It is a university jointly built by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, an excellent school in the undergraduate teaching work level evaluation of the Ministry of Education, and a national "double first-class" discipline construction university.

The school covers an area of ​​about 1,800 acres, has 19 colleges, 38 undergraduate majors, and more than 26,000 full-time students, including more than 4,400 graduate students.

The school is one of the first batch of doctoral and master's degree authorization points in traditional Chinese medicine in the country, and the first batch of clinical medicine (master's and doctoral) professional degree pilot units. There are currently 3 first-level doctoral degree authorization points, 28 second-level doctoral degree authorization points, 8 first-level master's authorization points, 62 second-level master's degree authorization points, and 3 postdoctoral mobile stations.

There is currently 1 national "double first-class" construction discipline (traditional Chinese medicine), 4 national key disciplines (traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and massage, traditional Chinese medicine otolaryngology, traditional Chinese medicine gynecology), 2 Sichuan Province "double first-class" construction disciplines (traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine), 44 provincial and ministerial key disciplines, and 2 ESI global top 1% disciplines (pharmacology and toxicology, clinical medicine).

The school has 9 national first-class professional construction sites and 11 provincial first-class majors; 7 national first-class courses and 39 provincial first-class courses; 75 provincial quality demonstration courses; 3 national excellent teaching teams and 5 provincial excellent teaching teams; the school is a provincial demonstration university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, and has been approved by the Ministry of Education as the first batch of national university practice education innovation and entrepreneurship bases, and 3 projects of the Ministry of Education's excellent doctor education and training plan; 1 national talent training model innovation experimental zone, 2 provincial talent training model innovation experimental zones. In the selection of the first national textbook construction award, 3 editor-in-chief textbooks won the national second prize, and the deputy editor-in-chief textbooks won 1 special prize, 1 first prize, and 4 second prizes, ranking first among Chinese medicine colleges in the country.

In the past five years, 3,387 new scientific research projects of various types have been added, including 362 national projects such as the National Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, and the National Social Science Foundation. 136 scientific and technological awards of various levels and types have been won, including 1 Provincial Science and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award, 1 Provincial Outstanding Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award, 1 Provincial International Science and Technology Cooperation Award, 9 Provincial Science and Technology First Prizes and 12 Second Prizes.

In the early days of the school, the school trained the first batch of undergraduate graduates and postgraduate students of Chinese medicine and Chinese medicine in New China, and trained the first doctor of Chinese medicine, the first postdoctoral fellow of Chinese medicine, and the first doctor of otorhinolaryngology in New China. Over the years, the school has actively carried out a variety of campus cultural arts, science and technology, social practice, volunteer service, innovation and entrepreneurship activities, and formed the "Xinglin" series of campus cultural brands with the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine culture. In the past five years, students have won more than 170 national and provincial academic research and innovation and entrepreneurship competition awards, volunteer service competition awards, cultural and art competition awards, etc., and won the national gold medal of the China International "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

The school currently has 79 laboratories of various levels and types, including the National Key Laboratory of Southwest Chinese Medicine Resources, a national experimental teaching demonstration center, a national virtual simulation experimental teaching center for traditional Chinese medicine, a national and local joint engineering research center for Chinese medicine preparation, a national Chinese medicine germplasm resource bank (Sichuan), the Ministry of Education 2011 Collaborative Innovation Center, a key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, an engineering research center of the Ministry of Education, a key research room of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a Chinese medicine research laboratory of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (level 3), a key laboratory of Sichuan Province, a Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Resource Sharing Service Platform, and a Sichuan Provincial Key Research Base for Social Sciences.

The school's affiliated hospital is a national traditional Chinese medicine inheritance and innovation center and clinical research center, a provincial clinical medical research center for traditional Chinese medicine endocrine and metabolic diseases, a clinical medical research center for traditional Chinese medicine cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and a traditional Chinese medicine evidence-based medicine center. The school currently has 4 directly affiliated hospitals, 8 non-directly affiliated hospitals, 3 directly affiliated hospitals, and 101 member units of the medical alliance.

The school has established the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle TCM Development Alliance, the Western China TCM University Alliance, and the Sichuan TCM Health Industry Technology Innovation Alliance. It has established the first board of directors of Chengdu University of TCM, established strategic partnerships with more than 50 local governments, and established industry-university-research-application cooperation with more than 100 enterprises, institutions, and academic institutions. It is a national pilot unit for "granting scientific research personnel ownership or long-term use rights of scientific and technological achievements" and a "national intellectual property pilot construction university".
