Xi'an Technological University

Founded in 1955, Xi'an University of Technology is a military supporting project of the 156 key construction projects of the National "First Five-Year Plan". It is the only university in the Northwest region with a complete undergraduate, master and doctoral training level in the weapons industry, and a postdoctoral research mobile station. The school is one of the members of the national "Seven Sons of Ordnance" and one of the initiators of the B8 Collaborative Innovation Alliance ("China Ordnance Collaborative Innovation Alliance"). At present, the school is a high-level university that is key to the construction of Shaanxi Province. It is a university jointly built by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, China Ordnance Industry Group, and China Ordnance Equipment Group. It has passed the national military standard quality management system certification and has the qualification to undertake weapons and equipment. A large number of achievements have been applied in key areas of national defense equipment.

The school covers an area of ​​1,200 acres and the building area of ​​the school building is more than 800,000 square meters. There are more than 1,900 faculty and staff, more than 3,200 full-time doctoral and master's students, and more than 18,000 undergraduates. There are 3 first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees, 3 postdoctoral research stations, 16 first-level disciplines authorized to confer master's degrees, 11 professional master's authorization categories, and 56 undergraduate majors. 6 majors are national featured majors, 9 majors are provincial featured majors, 12 majors are selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 22 majors are selected as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 6 majors are included in the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program", and 14 majors have passed engineering education certification. 5 disciplines have been approved as national defense featured disciplines, 1 discipline has been selected as a provincial "domestic first-class discipline construction university" construction discipline, and 7 disciplines have been included in the provincial advantageous disciplines and featured disciplines construction projects. The materials science discipline and engineering discipline are in the top 1% of the ESI global ranking.

The school has 2 national professional comprehensive reform pilot projects, 1 national bilingual teaching demonstration course, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 national engineering practice education center, 1 national college student off-campus practice base construction project, and 8 provincial professional comprehensive reform pilot projects. There are 6 national first-class courses, 1 national ideological and political demonstration course, 1 famous teacher and team, 9 provincial online first-class courses, 8 provincial virtual simulation experimental teaching projects, 8 provincial online and offline hybrid first-class undergraduate courses, 9 provincial offline first-class undergraduate courses, 3 provincial social practice first-class undergraduate courses, 6 provincial innovation and entrepreneurship education courses, 21 provincial quality courses, 54 provincial quality resource sharing courses, 3 provincial ideological and political demonstration courses and teaching teams, and 1 provincial ideological and political teaching research demonstration center. There are 16 provincial talent training model innovation experimental areas, 4 provincial off-campus practice education bases for college students, 2 provincial off-campus innovation and entrepreneurship education practice bases, and 1 provincial innovation and entrepreneurship education research and training base. In the past 10 years, the school has won 22 provincial teaching achievement awards (including 4 special prizes and 6 first prizes), and won the second prize of national teaching achievements twice.

The school has won the Shaanxi Provincial Campus Culture Outstanding Achievement Award for 11 consecutive years. In 2014, it won the Shaanxi Provincial Propaganda, Ideology and Culture Innovation Award, and is the only award-winning university in Shaanxi. In 2018, it was awarded the title of "Civilized Campus" in the provincial higher education system. In 2012, it became a "Shaanxi Provincial College Students' Innovation Ability Comprehensive Reform Pilot College", in 2016 it became a "Shaanxi Provincial College Practice Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base", "Shaanxi Provincial College Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform Pilot College"; in 2017, it became "Shaanxi Province's First Batch of Demonstration Colleges for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform".

The school has 1 national and local joint engineering research center, 1 national and local joint engineering laboratory, 1 international science and technology cooperation base, 1 key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, and 23 other provincial and ministerial research bases. It has 2 Shaanxi Provincial Key Science and Technology Innovation Teams and 4 Shaanxi Provincial College Youth Innovation Teams.

The school currently undertakes more than 1,000 projects of various types commissioned by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Planning Office, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, the Science and Technology Commission of the Military Commission, the Equipment Development Department of the Military Commission, various military services, various theater commands, provincial and municipal departments, enterprises and institutions. In 2021, the Northwest Nuclear Safety Center of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense was established in the school, and the Shaanxi Province Rapid Response Group Sub-center of the Military Commission Science and Technology Commission Rapid Response Center was established in the school.

From 2015 to date, it has won 2 second prizes in the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 first prize in the National Defense Science and Technology Award, 4 second prizes, and more than 40 provincial and ministerial scientific research achievement awards. It has won 5 China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Achievement Awards, and in 2017 it was awarded the Advanced Unit of the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Award, and was listed as a pilot unit for comprehensive innovation reform in Xi'an universities.
