Taizhou University is a public undergraduate college located in Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province. On April 18, 2013, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China replied to the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, agreeing to establish Taizhou University on the basis of Taizhou Normal College.

The school is located in Taizhou, a national historical and cultural city known as "ancient county of Han and Tang Dynasties and famous area of ​​Huaihai", and is a full-time public undergraduate college. Its predecessor was Taixing Rural Normal School, which was born in the flames of the Anti-Japanese War in 1941, and Subei Taizhou Normal School, which was established in 1952. In 2002, the two schools merged to form Taizhou Normal College, and Taizhou Radio and Television University was incorporated in the same year. In April 2013, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Taizhou Normal College was upgraded to a public undergraduate college - Taizhou College. In May 2017, the school became a bachelor's degree awarding institution. Over the past 80 years, the school has accumulated the school motto of "being practical and pragmatic, and being knowledgeable and practical" and the school spirit of "being precise and sincere, and integrating knowledge and practice", and has trained more than 100,000 outstanding talents of all levels and types for local economic and social development.

The school currently has two campuses in Jichuan and Taixing. The campus covers a total area of ​​697,600 square meters (1,046.39 acres), and the total building area of ​​the school is 357,100 square meters. The total assets are 3.109 billion yuan, of which the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 114 million yuan. The library has a collection of 1.0293 million paper books and 3.3057 million electronic books. The total bandwidth of the campus network and digital platform export is 2.2G. Cooperate with enterprises and institutions to establish 294 off-campus internship and training bases.

There are nearly 800 faculty members, including 52 senior professors, 208 associate professors, 125 with doctoral degrees and 454 with master's degrees; 1 New Century Excellent Talent of the Ministry of Education, 3 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in the province, 1 provincial teaching master, 15 training targets of the provincial "333 High-level Talent Project", 13 academic leaders and 34 backbone teachers of the provincial "Qinglan Project", 7 training targets of the provincial "Six Talent Peaks", 1 talent of the provincial dual entrepreneurship plan, 1 provincial dual entrepreneurship doctor, 50 municipal talents such as young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions; 5 part-time doctoral supervisors and 19 master supervisors.

There are more than 10,000 full-time students. There are 12 teaching units such as the School of Humanities, 29 undergraduate majors, covering 8 disciplines such as economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, management, and art. There are 3 provincial key construction disciplines in the "13th Five-Year Plan", 5 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 15 provincial first-class courses, 1 provincial key construction laboratory, 1 provincial basic course experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 provincial university humanities and social sciences off-campus research base, 2 provincial excellent teaching teams, 12 provincial online open courses, 22 Ministry of Education industry-university cooperation and collaborative education projects, 14 provincial education and teaching reform research projects (including 1 top priority project and 4 key projects), and 2 provincial teaching achievement awards.

Since the upgrade to undergraduate, a total of 26 national projects and 39 provincial and ministerial projects have been approved; 2062 papers have been published with Taizhou College as the first unit, including 573 papers included in SCI, EI, SSCI, CSSCI, etc.; 83 books have been published; and 26 scientific research awards at or above the provincial level have been won. 1,261 students won awards in national and provincial competitions; 39 national projects and 232 provincial projects in the College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program; 7 provincial "Chuang Qingchun" college student entrepreneurship competition awards and 10 provincial "Challenge Cup" college students' extracurricular academic and scientific works competition awards. The year-end employment rate is above 95%, and the school has been rated as an excellent unit for the provincial college graduate employment and entrepreneurship assessment.

It has established friendly cooperative relations with many universities and research institutions in the United States, Germany, Canada, Russia, Italy, South Korea and other countries. Every year, it combines visiting studies and training with Jiangsu government study abroad scholarship programs, summer overseas cultural exchanges, overseas internships and other projects to select teachers and students to study abroad.

It has successively won the honorary titles of Jiangsu Civilized Unit, Jiangsu University Harmonious Campus, Jiangsu Ideological and Political Work Excellent Unit, Jiangsu University Student Summer Social Practice Advanced Unit, Jiangsu University Graduate Employment Advanced Collective and other honorary titles.
