Xuzhou Institute of Technology is a full-time public undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is a member of the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, a member of the Sino-German Applied Higher Education Alliance, the first batch of selected universities in the National Engineering Practice Education Center, and a member of the Sino-German Energy and Mining Ecological Environment Research Center.

Xuzhou Institute of Technology is located in Xuzhou, Jiangsu, an important node city of the "Belt and Road" initiative, a national historical and cultural city, and the central city of the Huaihai Economic Zone. The school started in 1959 and was approved as a full-time undergraduate college by the Ministry of Education in 2002.
