Jinling Institute of Technology

Located in Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties, Jinling Institute of Technology is a public full-time undergraduate college with the mission of cultivating high-quality applied talents. It is a strategic research unit for the reform pilot of applied science and technology universities of the Ministry of Education, a founding unit of the China University of Applied Technology (College) Alliance, and the chairman unit of the Yangtze River Delta Region Applied Undergraduate University Alliance. The predecessor of the school was the first full-time urban vocational university in New China, Jinling Vocational University, established in 1980, and Nanjing Agricultural College, established in 1958 and rebuilt in 1984. In June 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the provincial and municipal governments, the two schools merged to build Jinling Institute of Technology, which was officially established in March 2005.

The school currently has three campuses: Jiangning, Mufu, and Baixia. The main campus is located in Jiangning University Town. The university covers a total area of ​​1.0164 million square meters, with a total building area of ​​657,200 square meters. The original value of fixed assets is 2.772 billion yuan, of which the value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 496 million yuan. There are more than 20,000 full-time undergraduate students and nearly 100 joint master's students. There are 20 secondary colleges (departments) including the School of Marxism, School of Business, School of Humanities, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Intelligent Science and Control Engineering, School of Civil Engineering, School of Software Engineering, School of Cyber ​​Security, School of Computer Engineering, School of Electronic Information Engineering, School of Network and Communication Engineering, School of Art, School of Animation, School of Horticulture and Landscape, School of Animal Science and Food Engineering, School of Materials Engineering, School of Foreign Languages, School of Science, School of International Education, and Department of Physical Education. The university offers 65 undergraduate majors in seven disciplines, including economics, literature, engineering, agriculture, management, art, and science. Urban and rural planning, software engineering, horticulture, business administration, and design are "provincial key construction disciplines", and 15 disciplines, including applied economics and computer science and technology, are "municipal key disciplines" (including 2 cultivation disciplines). The accounting major is a national characteristic specialty construction site, and two majors, including software engineering and clothing and apparel design, are national first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites. Software engineering, animation, accounting, building electrical and intelligentization are provincial brand majors, 21 majors such as materials science and engineering, electronic information engineering, veterinary medicine, and classical literature are provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, accounting, fashion design and engineering, animation, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation are provincial characteristic majors, mechanical, civil, business administration, design and other 4 majors are provincial key majors, materials science and engineering is a pilot major of the Ministry of Education's excellent engineer education and training program, communication engineering and software engineering are pilot majors of the provincial excellent engineer (software) education and training program. 9 courses were selected as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate courses, and 27 courses were recognized as the first batch of provincial first-class undergraduate courses. There are currently 2 pilot projects for comprehensive reform of the Ministry of Education, 3 provincial excellent teaching teams, 1 provincial excellent science and technology innovation team, 2 provincial key construction laboratories, 1 provincial higher education talent training model innovation experimental base, 1 provincial key industry college construction site, 5 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 4 provincial practical education centers (including construction sites).

The school continuously strengthens the internal and external training of talents, and strives to build a high-quality teaching staff with "double teachers and double abilities" that can meet the needs of applied talent training. There are nearly 1,300 full-time teachers, including nearly 140 senior professional titles, 1 dual-appointed academician, and 5 domestic and foreign academicians have been hired as honorary (honorary) professors of the school. In the past three years, nearly 1,300 patents have been authorized, and nearly 1,800 vertical and horizontal projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Social Science Foundation have been undertaken. Since 1995, it has successively carried out cooperative education with Australia, New Zealand, Canada, France, Austria, the Netherlands, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia and other countries as well as universities in Taiwan and Macau. There are currently 4 professional Sino-foreign cooperative education projects approved by the Ministry of Education, including Sino-US Horticulture (Biotechnology), Sino-Australian Software Engineering, Sino-British Communication Engineering, and Sino-British Civil Engineering.
