Guilin University of Electronic Technology

Guilin University of Electronic Technology is located in Guilin, a world-famous scenic tourist city and a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is a university jointly built by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and Guangxi, a university selected in the national "Basic Capacity Construction Project for Colleges and Universities in Central and Western China", and a key university in Guangxi.

The school was founded in 1960. In 1980, the Guilin Institute of Electronic Industry was established with the approval of the State Council. In 2006, it was renamed Guilin University of Electronic Technology. The school was successively affiliated to the Fourth Ministry of Machinery Industry, the Ministry of Electronics Industry, the Ministry of Machinery and Electronics Industry, the China Electronics Industry Corporation, and the Ministry of Information Industry. In 2000, the management system was changed to co-construction by the central and local governments, with local management as the main focus. In 1990, Comrade Jiang Zemin, then General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, visited the school and wrote an inscription for the school, "To cultivate more qualified talents for the development of the electronics industry". The school won the honorary title of "National Civilized Campus" for two consecutive years.

School conditions The school currently has Jinjiling Campus, Liuhe Road Campus, Huajiang Campus, and Beihai Campus, which are located in Guilin National High-tech Development Zone, Yaoshan Scenic Area, Guilin City, and Yinhai District, Beihai City, with a total campus area of ​​4,153 acres. The school library has a construction area of ​​more than 45,000 square meters. The library currently has more than 2.19 million paper books, more than 2.82 million electronic books, more than 90 databases, and more than 39,000 Chinese and foreign periodicals (including paper and electronic). Talent Training The school currently has more than 43,000 full-time students. The school is a university in the Ministry of Education's Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program, a university implementing the National College Students' Innovative Experimental Program, and a demonstration school for the Ministry of Education's College English Teaching Reform. The school is a preparatory student training unit for the children of border guards of the whole army. Scientific Research The school has undertaken a number of high-level national scientific research projects such as major national science and technology projects, national key research and development plans, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, major scientific research instrument projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, and special commissioned projects of the National Social Science Foundation. In the past five years, 327 new national scientific research projects have been added; more than 2,000 papers included in SCI and EI have been published, more than 150 academic works have been published, and 96 provincial and ministerial scientific research achievements have been awarded.
