Guangxi University of Finance and Economics

Guangxi University of Finance and Economics is a general undergraduate university of finance and economics that is a key project of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The history of the school can be traced back to the Guangxi Commercial College founded in 1960 (renamed Guangxi Commercial School in September 1962) and the Guangxi Finance School established in 1963. In 2004, Guangxi Finance College and Guangxi Commercial College merged to form Guangxi University of Finance and Economics.

The school currently has three campuses: Xiangsihu Campus, Mingxiu Campus and Wuming Campus, covering an area of ​​1,281,627.09m2, of which the school's property rights are 546,986.73m2. The building area of ​​the school is 500,888.93m2, of which the school owns 489,802.13m2. The area of ​​teaching and administrative rooms is 161,059.93m2, and the average teaching and administrative room per student is 7.32m2; the area of ​​student dormitories is 153,900.3m2, and the average dormitory area per student is 7m2. The total value of fixed assets is 114,681.3 million yuan, of which the asset value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 21,511.34 million yuan. There are 12,998 digital terminals, of which 10,127 are student terminals. There are 1.84285 million paper books and 1,461,838 electronic books, with an average of 78.46 paper books per student. There are 420 classrooms, including 390 network multimedia classrooms.

The school has 15 teaching colleges and 59 undergraduate majors. In 2021, the school became a master's degree awarding institution, and currently has three master's degree authorization points in accounting, finance, and taxation. There are 21,989 full-time students, including 21,064 undergraduates, 521 postgraduates, 127 junior college students, 52 international students, and 225 preparatory students. There are 91 part-time postgraduates and 11,007 correspondence undergraduate and junior college students.

The school currently has 1,764 faculty members, including 1,272 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 547 teachers have associate senior titles or above, accounting for 43% of the total number of full-time teachers; 1,068 teachers with master's degrees or above, accounting for 83.96% of the total number of full-time teachers. It has a group of high-level talents with the leading talents of philosophy and social sciences in the national "Ten Thousand Talents Plan", national cultural celebrities and "four batches" talents, national candidates of the "New Century Hundred Thousand Talents Project", candidates of the "New Century Excellent Talents Support Plan" of the Ministry of Education, experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, second-level professors, autonomous region-level teaching teams and autonomous region-level teaching masters as the core.

In recent years, the school has vigorously adjusted and optimized the discipline layout structure, forming a high-level discipline system with a reasonable layout, outstanding advantages and distinctive characteristics that deeply matches the regional economic and social development. Applied economics and statistics have been approved as a new round of Guangxi first-class discipline construction projects. There are 2 autonomous region key laboratories, 4 autonomous region-level think tanks, 1 Guangxi university key laboratory, and 4 key research bases for humanities and social sciences (2019-2023). In the past five years, it has won 81 national scientific research projects and 202 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects. It has won 1 major project and 1 key project of the National Social Science Fund, and the number of national social science fund projects has remained at the forefront of universities in the region.

The school adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people, and the quality of talent training is constantly improving. There are currently 3 national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 8 autonomous region-level first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 1 national first-class undergraduate course, and 19 autonomous region-level first-class undergraduate courses. The China-ASEAN Digital Economy College and the Digital Finance and Accounting Industry College have been approved as exemplary modern industrial colleges for ordinary undergraduate colleges in Guangxi. In recent years, the school has won 1 national teaching achievement award and 46 autonomous region-level teaching achievement awards, and students have won more than 400 awards at various levels and types, including the China "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
