There are 47 provincial and ministerial scientific research platforms such as the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Tumor Immunotherapy Development and the Key Laboratory of Gastrointestinal Malignant Tumors of the Ministry of Education. There are 2 national clinical medical research centers in Fujian Province, including the Fujian Branch of the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Metabolic Diseases and the Fujian Branch of the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan, it has undertaken more than 5,000 scientific research projects of various types and published more than 8,400 SCI papers. It has won 174 awards including the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, the Fujian Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Fujian Medical Science and Technology Award. The school has 4 directly affiliated hospitals, including the Affiliated Union Hospital, the Affiliated First Hospital, the Affiliated Second Hospital, and the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital. The Fujian Hospital of Huashan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University (Binhai Campus of the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University), jointly built by the Affiliated First Hospital and Huashan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, is one of the first national regional medical centers in the country. The Affiliated Union Hospital is the leading construction unit of the comprehensive national regional medical center, the Affiliated Second Hospital is the first provincial regional medical center, and the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital is the construction unit of the specialized national regional medical center.
