Guizhou University of Finance and Economics

Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, founded in 1958, was originally named Guizhou College of Finance and Economics. In 2012, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to change its name to its current name. It is a training base for economic management talents in Guizhou Province that is focused on by the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government. Professor Hong Yinxing, a famous economist, winner of the "Sun Yefang Economics Award" and former Party Secretary of Nanjing University, serves as the Honorary President of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics.

The school adheres to the Guizhou spirit of "hard work, rigorous and pragmatic, and bearing heavy responsibilities", abides by the school motto of "virtue, erudition, perseverance, and innovation", adheres to the service positioning of "based in Guizhou, facing the southwest, and radiating the whole country", and is committed to cultivating "Confucian soul business talents" for "enriching the people and revitalizing Guizhou". It has trained more than 100,000 outstanding talents for the country and society, and has made positive contributions to the economic and social development of the southwest region, the "Pearl River Delta" and the "Yangtze River Delta" and the development of China's securities industry.

The school currently has two campuses, Huaxi and Luchongguan, covering a total area of ​​5,029 acres. The school hosts the Big Data Statistics College jointly run by the National Bureau of Statistics and the Guizhou Provincial Government, the Sino-foreign cooperative education institution approved by the Ministry of Education of China-Western Michigan College of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, and the "Business Administration" postdoctoral research mobile station approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China and the national professional and technical personnel continuing education base. The school has 18 colleges (departments) and currently has 18,837 full-time students, including 56 doctoral students, 2,483 master's students, 16,127 undergraduates, and 56 international students. There are 1,996 faculty members, including 1,188 full-time teachers, 701 full-time teachers with senior professional titles, 616 teachers with doctoral degrees, 40 doctoral supervisors, 3 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, 8 experts enjoying special government allowances from the provincial government, 3 core experts in Guizhou Province, 9 provincial experts, 1 Qianling Scholar, 5 provincial teaching masters, 9 provincial excellent teachers, 1 national excellent teacher, 15 "Light of the West" visiting scholars; 2 high-level innovative "hundred" level talents in Guizhou Province, and 12 thousand-level talents.

The school adheres to the coordinated development of discipline construction and professional construction. It has 3 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees, 11 first-level disciplines authorized for master's degrees, 15 master's professional degree authorization categories, 3 domestic first-class construction discipline groups, 6 first-class construction disciplines in the region, 6 provincial characteristic key disciplines, and 10 provincial key disciplines. There are 66 undergraduate majors, covering 8 disciplines, including 13 national first-class undergraduate major construction points, 6 national characteristic majors, 18 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction points, 9 provincial demonstration majors, and 4 provincial characteristic majors. There is 1 national economic management experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 national economic management virtual simulation experimental teaching center, 1 national talent training model innovation experimental zone, 3 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 1 provincial university science and technology park, 1 maker space included in the provincial maker space management, 1 provincial curriculum ideological and political teaching research demonstration center, and approved as the fourth batch of provincial dual innovation demonstration bases and the fifth batch of national entrepreneurship incubation demonstration bases. There are 2 provincial first-class platform construction (cultivation) projects, 4 first-class professional construction projects, 3 first-class faculty team construction projects, 1 first-class teaching management team construction project, 3 first-class course construction (cultivation) projects, 5 provincial teaching teams, 3 national first-class undergraduate courses, 13 provincial quality courses, and it has been approved as the second batch of demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform by the Ministry of Education. It has formed a multi-disciplinary coordinated development of finance and economics universities with economics and management disciplines as the main body, science and engineering disciplines, and liberal arts disciplines as the two wings, and education, sociology, art, sports, journalism and communication as the characteristics.

The school attaches importance to scientific research and social services. There is currently 1 provincial high-end think tank, 5 provincial key laboratories, 6 provincial talent training and training bases, 2 provincial collaborative innovation centers, 1 provincial engineering research center, 5 provincial research centers (institutes), 8 provincial innovation teams, and 42 school-level scientific research institutions, forming characteristic research fields such as green development, anti-poverty, ecological economy, mountain economy, economic history and inclusive finance. The Journal of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics was selected into the Overview of Chinese Core Journals, the Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI), the Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Journal A Core, the RCCSE Chinese Core Academic Journal (A), the Chinese Science and Technology Core Journal, and the National People's Congress Reprinted Newspaper and Periodicals Important Source Journal. The school insists on open education and continuously expands exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad. We have established a support relationship with Nanjing University, Renmin University of China, and Central University of Finance and Economics. We have carried out strategic cooperation with more than ten high-level universities and research institutes, including the Institute of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Institute of Financial Strategy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the University of Macau, Wuhan University of Technology, Guangdong University of Technology, and Guangxi University of Finance and Economics. The Western Michigan College of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, jointly established with Western Michigan University in the United States, is the first undergraduate-level Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institution in Guizhou Province, with 3 undergraduate majors; we have cooperated with Edinburgh Napier University in the United Kingdom and Marshall University in the United States to organize 2 Sino-foreign cooperatively-run undergraduate programs; we have cooperated with the China Scholarship Council to organize the International Undergraduate Academic Recognition Course (ISEC) project, with 4 undergraduate majors; we have been approved by the China Scholarship Council to fund the project "Regional and Country Research Talent Support Program (Project System)"; there are currently 4,758 undergraduate students in cooperative education. We actively participate in the dissemination of Chinese culture and the international promotion of Chinese, and have established a Confucius Institute in cooperation with the Eritrea Institute of Higher Education and Research in Africa.
