Anhui University of Architecture

Anhui Jianzhu University is the only multidisciplinary university in Anhui Province with civil engineering as its specialty. It was founded in 1958. The school is a university jointly established by Anhui Province and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, an excellent university in the undergraduate teaching level assessment of the Ministry of Education, a doctoral degree-granting institution, a university implementing the National "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program", a national demonstration unit of conservation-oriented public institutions, a national advanced unit for college students' social practice, a provincial advanced unit for talent work, a provincial excellent teaching management collective, a provincial advanced unit for employment work, a provincial model unit for employment of ordinary college graduates, a provincial advanced unit for logistics work in colleges and universities, and a civilized unit in Anhui Province.

The school has 12 colleges and 61 undergraduate majors, covering seven major disciplines: engineering, management, science, art, literature, law, and economics. There are more than 16,800 full-time undergraduates and more than 2,100 graduate students. There are more than 1,500 faculty members, including 1,214 teachers, more than 480 teachers with associate senior professional and technical titles, 1,094 teachers with master's degrees or above, 15 doctoral supervisors, and 458 master's supervisors. There are 6 members of the National Higher Education Teaching Steering Committee, 1 national teaching master, 29 provincial teaching masters, 13 national and provincial teaching teams, 5 provincial science and technology innovation teams, 14 provincial academic and technical leaders, 6 people enjoying special allowances from the State Council, and 7 people enjoying special allowances from the Anhui Provincial Government.

The school currently has 1 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization point, 12 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, 14 professional degree authorization categories, 8 provincial key disciplines, 1 national engineering laboratory, 10 provincial key laboratories, 15 national and provincial engineering (technology) research centers, 1 provincial international science and technology cooperation base, and 2 Anhui Provincial University Think Tanks. The library currently has more than 1.7 million paper books and more than 3 million electronic books.

The school closely relies on the advantages of "big civil engineering" disciplines, actively serves the local economic and social development, condenses the direction of scientific research, and has formed a number of scientific research directions and academic teams with great influence and distinctive characteristics in key areas such as energy conservation and environmental protection, urbanization and Hui-style architecture, underground engineering, public safety, and advanced building materials. In recent years, it has presided over more than 270 national key R&D plan projects, national science and technology support plans, national major science and technology projects, 973 plans, National Natural Science Foundation and Social Science Foundation projects, and more than 950 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects; won 87 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, including 4 second prizes for national science and technology progress and 1 gold prize for China invention patents.

The school has always adhered to the quality of the school, continuously deepened the reform of education and teaching, established and improved the quality monitoring system, vigorously implemented quality engineering and achieved outstanding results. In recent years, it has won 22 national quality engineering projects and more than 800 provincial quality engineering projects, including 1 second prize for national teaching achievements, 7 special prizes for provincial teaching achievements, and 22 first prizes. The school currently has 15 national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 4 national first-class courses, 9 majors that have passed the national professional education assessment (certification), 1 national quality course, 18 provincial quality courses, 1 national bilingual teaching demonstration course, 1 national planning textbook, 1 national talent training model innovation experimental zone, 2 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, 4 national new engineering projects, and 2 national virtual simulation experimental teaching projects.

The school currently has 25 scientific research institutions such as the Energy Conservation Research Institute and the Hui-style Architecture Research Institute. It has school-run enterprises such as the Architectural Design Institute, the Geotechnical Survey and Design Institute, and the Planning and Design Institute, becoming a base for cultivating advanced engineering application talents with innovative spirit and practical ability.

The school recruits students from 26 provinces (autonomous regions) and municipalities across the country. In recent years, the quality of students has been continuously improved, and the admission score line for freshmen and the employment rate of graduates have been among the top provincial universities for many years, and graduates are favored by employers. Students have repeatedly achieved outstanding results in various disciplines and sports competitions for college students across the country and the province, and have won more than 1,000 national, provincial and ministerial commendations and awards.

The school's foreign exchanges are becoming increasingly active. It has established inter-school cooperation relations with more than 20 universities in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, Belarus, South Korea and Taiwan, and has made great progress in joint training of students, academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation of teachers, and Sino-foreign cooperative education. The school is a Sino-foreign cooperative education unit recognized by the Ministry of Education.
