Anhui University of Information Engineering is a non-profit private applied undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education of China and the People's Government of Anhui Province. It is wholly owned by iFlytek Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "iFlytek"), a well-known listed company in the Asia-Pacific region for intelligent voice and artificial intelligence, and supervised by the Anhui Provincial Department of Education. Its predecessor was the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Anhui Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (now Anhui University of Technology), which was established in June 2003; in April 2012, iFlytek and Anhui University of Technology jointly established the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Anhui University of Technology and took the lead in running the school; in April 2016, it was converted into an independent full-time undergraduate college and renamed Anhui University of Information Engineering.

The school is located in Wuhu City, a sub-central city in Anhui Province, covering an area of ​​more than 1,200 acres and a building area of ​​more than 360,000 square meters. There are more than 12,000 full-time undergraduate students and more than 700 faculty and staff, including nearly 500 full-time teachers. There are School of Computer and Software Engineering (School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence), School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Management Engineering, School of Art and Design, School of General Education and Foreign Languages, School of Marxism, and Comprehensive Quality and Ability Cultivation Center for College Students, Center for College Students' Creativity and Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Management Service Center for College Students. There are 24 undergraduate majors in software engineering, artificial intelligence, automation, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, marketing, environmental design, English, etc., forming a professional layout with engineering as the main subject and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as economics, management, art, and literature.

The library has more than 1.02 million paper books, 1.04 million electronic books, and more than 180,000 electronic journals. There are 6 experimental teaching centers, with 79 experimental (training) rooms covering all majors in the school. There are 6 provincial demonstration experimental training centers and more than 8,000 square meters of outdoor quality development bases and indoor development training rooms; 225 off-campus internship bases. A smart campus covering smart education, smart management and smart park with certain demonstration has been built. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is more than 90 million yuan.

Since iFLYTEK took the lead in running the school in 2012, the school has clearly defined its application-oriented school-running orientation to serve the regional economic and social development, and has taken the "cradle of industrial engineers and entrepreneurs" established by the school board as its vision for running the school. Adhering to the school motto of "determination, sincerity and innovation", relying on iFLYTEK's advantages in talents, technology and resources, and drawing on the school-running philosophy and training model of European and American universities of applied sciences, the school has deeply implemented a series of educational and teaching reform measures of "breaking through tradition, facing the market, focusing on application, and innovation-driven". During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan", a total of 28 Anhui Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards were won, of which "Research and Practice of Personalized Talent Training Model Based on Information Technology and Driven by Data" won the special prize, and "Construction and Practice of IT Talent Engineering Capability Training System Based on Demand and Collaboration between Schools and Enterprises" and other 7 achievements won the first prize. The initial employment rate of the past five graduates has always been at the forefront of undergraduate colleges in Anhui Province, and the average starting salary of graduates is 12% higher than the national average. In the ranking results of the national general college subject competitions from 2016 to 2020 released by the China Higher Education Society, the five-year subject competition results ranked It ranks 242nd among more than 1,200 undergraduate colleges and universities in the country, 3rd among more than 400 private undergraduate colleges and universities (including independent colleges), and 14th among more than 700 newly-established undergraduate colleges and universities. It has entered national competitions many times and achieved excellent results in RoboMaster, China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge and National College Student Intelligent Car Competition, and the participation rate of students in subject competitions reached 59%. In the "China University Evaluation" of the Chinese Academy of Management Science, it was rated as a first-class private university in China for three consecutive years from 2019 to 2021 and ranked third. Scientific research closely revolves around the application-oriented school-running positioning, with horizontal topics facing the actual production problems of enterprises. , intellectual property rights mainly based on patents, and the construction of engineering technology centers (platforms) for integrated innovation and product development for enterprise transformation and upgrading. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, a total of 145 vertical projects of various types were approved, including major science and technology projects in Anhui Province, key research and development projects in Anhui Province, natural science foundation projects in Anhui Province, humanities and social science projects of the Ministry of Education, and social science planning projects in Anhui Province; 205 horizontal projects were undertaken, with a total of 8.2144 million yuan in funds received. 3,546 patents of various types were applied for, including 1,582 invention patents, accounting for 44.61%; a total of 1,416 patents of various types were authorized. In 2019 and 2020, the school ranked 10th in the invention patent authorization ranking of universities in Anhui Province and 95th in the top 100 invention patents in Anhui Province.
