Anhui University (Anhui University), referred to as Anda, is located in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province. The school is a key university in the national "211 Project", a national "Double First-Class" world-class discipline construction university, and has been selected into the "Excellent Legal Talent Education and Training Program". It is a "National Chinese Language Education Base", "Ministry of Education Study Abroad Demonstration Base" and "Chinese Government Scholarship International Students Receiving Institutions", jointly built by the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Anhui Province.

In 1928, Anhui University was founded in Anqing City, which was then the provincial capital, and opened the precedent of modern higher education in Anhui, continuing the essence of the culture of respecting education in the Yangtze River and Huai River. After several changes of location, it moved to Hefei in 1956; it was renamed several times. On September 16, 1958, Chairman Mao Zedong personally wrote the name of the school "Anhui University", and this day was designated as the school anniversary. As an institution of higher learning with a red revolutionary tradition, Anhui University has been running for nearly a hundred years. It has established exchanges and cooperation with 152 universities and research institutions in the United States, Britain, Germany, Japan and other countries and regions; the school and the Stony Brook University of the State University of New York jointly established the first undergraduate-level Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institution in Anhui Province, "Anhui University New York Stony Brook College", with Academician Yang Zhenning as the honorary dean and personally named the college; it has cooperated with the University of Santo Tomas in Chile, the University of Kharkiv in Ukraine, the University of Baku in Azerbaijan, and the Brest State University in Belarus to establish 4 Confucius Institutes, among which the Confucius Institute at the University of Santo Tomas in Chile has successively won the honorary titles of "Global Advanced Confucius Institute" and "Model Confucius Institute".
