Anhui University of Technology

Anhui University of Technology is a provincial multidisciplinary university with engineering as its main discipline and a key university in Anhui Province. It is a university under the National Central and Western University Basic Capacity Construction Project (Phase II) and is located in the national open city of Wuhu. The school was founded in 1935 as Anhui Private Neisi Senior Vocational School. It has gone through the Wuhu Electric Motor Manufacturing School (affiliated to the former First Ministry of Machinery Industry), Wuhu Machinery School, Anhui Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Anhui Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, and was renamed Anhui University of Technology in 2010. In 2015, it was approved as the first batch of pilot institutions for comprehensive reform of universities in Anhui Province. In 2016, it was approved as a pilot unit for the reform of innovation autonomy of universities in Anhui Province to promote comprehensive innovation reform. In 2019, it was approved as a doctoral degree-granting unit in Anhui Province.

The total building area of ​​the school is 720,000 square meters, and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 398 million yuan. There are more than 23,000 full-time undergraduate students, more than 1,700 graduate students, and more than 1,500 faculty and staff, including more than 520 with senior professional and technical titles. The school has hired a group of well-known scholars at home and abroad, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as part-time professors, and introduced high-level talents as discipline leaders. More than 90 people have won provincial talent projects and teaching masters (teams) and titles, and gradually built a teaching and research team with rich teaching experience, high academic level, and strong scientific research capabilities.

The school has 16 secondary colleges and continuing education colleges, including the School of Mechanical Engineering. Relying on new engineering majors such as robotics engineering, data science and big data technology, artificial intelligence, and intelligent science and technology, it took the lead in establishing an artificial intelligence college in Anhui universities. In terms of undergraduate education, there are more than 60 undergraduate majors, covering engineering, science, literature, management, economics, law, art and other categories, including 8 national first-class professional construction points, 14 provincial first-class professional construction points, 15 national and provincial comprehensive reform pilot majors, 24 national and provincial outstanding talent training plan majors, and 5 majors have passed the engineering education professional certification; a national off-campus practical education base for college students has been established; 2 national first-class courses and 59 provincial first-class courses have been approved; nearly 90 national "new engineering", "new agricultural science" and industry-university cooperation and collaborative education projects have been added in the past three years. In terms of postgraduate education, there are 17 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, 11 master's professional degree authorization categories, 3 self-established cross-disciplinary master's degree authorization points, and a provincial industry-university-research joint training postgraduate demonstration base and a provincial professional degree case library and teaching case promotion center have been established.

The school actively carries out scientific research. In the past three years, it has been approved for more than 50 national scientific research projects and more than 300 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects; 23 provincial science and technology awards, 4 provincial social science awards, and 1 of the 8th Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education (Humanities and Social Sciences). It has obtained 449 invention patents and was selected as a national intellectual property pilot university in 2020. The discipline of control science and engineering was selected into the peak discipline construction plan of Anhui Province. Cooperating with Anhui Efort Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. to jointly build a national and local joint engineering research center (engineering laboratory), there are 24 provincial and above scientific and technological innovation platforms such as the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Advanced Perception and Intelligent Control of High-end Equipment, the Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Wanjiang High-end Equipment Manufacturing, and the Provincial Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences of Design Art. The school's analysis and testing center has the qualification of a provincial food inspection agency.

The school adheres to the service orientation of "based on the local, serving Anhui, and radiating the Yangtze River Delta". Focusing on the integration strategy of the Yangtze River Delta, it continues to deepen the cooperation between the school and the local, the school-enterprise and the alumni industry-university-research cooperation, serve and support the construction of the "three places and one district", and deeply promote regional integration, school-enterprise integration, and industry-education integration. We have jointly built the Anhui University of Technology International Engineering College with Wuhu City, and made every effort to create a "international, engineering, enterprise-oriented, and diversified" talent training model reform demonstration zone and an integrated technology incubation base for industry, academia, research, and application; we have jointly built the AMP Robotics Industry Technology Research Institute and obtained approval for the first batch of new R&D institutions in Anhui Province. We have jointly built the Xuancheng Industrial Technology Research Institute, Creative Industry Research Institute, Additive Manufacturing Research Institute, and Artificial Intelligence Research Institute with local governments. We have carried out in-depth cooperation in the integration of industry and education with large domestic well-known enterprises such as Conch Group, Anhui Forklift Group, Chery Holding Group, Gujing Group, China Communications Service Anhui Company, and Baidu Company. We have undertaken more than 30 decision-making consulting projects in Anhui Province and Wuhu City. We have established cooperative and exchange relations with more than 30 well-known universities in the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Ukraine, Malaysia and other countries and Taiwan, and actively carried out activities such as cooperative education, talent training and scientific research.

The school has a clear guiding ideology, taking moral education as its fundamental task, adhering to the school-running philosophy of "quality-based school, talent-based school, characteristics and harmony-based school" and the educational philosophy of "being honest, doing things steadily, and doing solid learning".
