Founded in 1946, North China University of Technology was formerly the National Peking Advanced Industrial Vocational School. After the founding of New China, it was successively affiliated to the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry and China Nonferrous Metals Industry Corporation. In 1985, it was renamed as the current name and was transferred to the management of Beijing in 1998. It has now developed into a university with engineering as its main discipline, coordinated development of seven major disciplines including science, engineering, liberal arts, economics, management, law and art, outstanding advantages in engineering and distinctive characteristics.
