Bengbu Business College (formerly Anhui University of Finance and Economics Business School)

Bengbu Business College is an undergraduate college with economics and management as its main subjects, and six major disciplines including literature, science, engineering, and art. The school was established in June 2003. Its predecessor was the Anhui University of Finance and Economics Business School. It is a full-time undergraduate independent college organized by Anhui University of Finance and Economics. The school obtained the right to award bachelor's degrees in 2012. In March 2020, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was officially converted to Bengbu Business College.

The school is located on the east side of Tushan Scenic Area, Yuhui District, Bengbu City, covering an area of ​​1,000 acres. The building area is 230,000 square meters, and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is nearly 30 million yuan. There are 39 professional laboratories and cross-disciplinary laboratories, including speech rooms, computer basic laboratories, financial investment, smart logistics, university physics, accounting manual, advertising design, etc. More than 40 sets of experimental training software such as Tonghuashun, Foster, Shangdao, Fangyu VTS-M, Zhiyi, etc. have been purchased, which can fully meet the requirements of experimental training; the library has a building area of ​​22,000 m², with 7 book lending rooms and more than 20 service units such as intensive book stacks, seminar rooms, and lecture halls. There are nearly 2 million paper and electronic books, nearly 40 kinds of digital resources available, and the number and variety of books and digital resources are sufficient. The library environment is elegant and the facilities are first-class, which can provide convenient literature and information services for teachers and students; it has a high-speed network system, a full-coverage monitoring and broadcasting system, etc., and various facilities are complete and reasonably laid out, which can fully meet the needs of talent training.

The school has 8 secondary teaching units including the School of Accounting, School of Economics and Finance, School of Business Administration, School of Finance and Auditing, School of International Business, School of Humanities and Arts, School of Computer and Data Engineering, and School of Marxism, as well as 1 physical education department. It has 28 undergraduate majors including accounting, finance, financial management, business administration, computer science and technology, data science and big data technology, labor relations, and cross-border e-commerce, forming a discipline and professional system with economic management as the main discipline and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. In recent years, it has been approved to have 3 provincial first-class majors, 4 provincial characteristic majors, and 3 provincial comprehensive reform pilot majors.

The school currently has 439 full-time teachers, including 188 teachers with associate senior titles or above, accounting for 43%; 72 teachers with doctoral degrees, accounting for 16%; 353 teachers with master's degrees or above, accounting for 80%; 64 dual-qualified teachers, accounting for 15%; 37 teachers with education backgrounds from 985 universities such as Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University, and University of Science and Technology of China, and overseas study experience from the University of Sydney, Australia, City University of Hong Kong, University of York, UK, and Waseda University, Japan; 5 provincial teaching masters, 7 provincial teaching teams, and 13 provincial teaching newcomers. There are nearly 8,000 students on campus, and since its establishment, the school has sent about 16,000 graduates to the society.

Since its establishment, the school has increased its efforts in teaching and scientific research innovation and continuously consolidated the foundation for educating people. In recent years, more than 100 scientific research projects at or above the provincial level have been approved, including 7 National Social Science Funds, 2 National Natural Science Funds, and 3 humanities and social science projects of the Ministry of Education; more than 150 provincial quality engineering projects have been approved, including 10 teaching achievement awards, 6 provincial major teaching reform research projects, 3 excellent talent education and training plans, and 9 online teaching excellent classes.

In the process of running the school, the school has always adhered to the market-oriented approach, closely focusing on the goal of cultivating applied talents, constantly innovating talent training models, and adhering to the connotative development path. Through rigorous teaching, quality-oriented, highlighting characteristics, promoting innovation, and strengthening practice, the school has taken multiple measures to improve the quality assurance system for talent training, strengthen the cultivation of students' innovative spirit and practical ability, and continuously improve students' comprehensive quality and talent training quality. In recent years, students have won more than 300 provincial and above awards in various disciplines at all levels, including 3 international awards and more than 100 national awards. In the National Management Decision Simulation Competition, the College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition, the College Student Advertising Art Competition and other activities, they have achieved outstanding results, and the level of participation and the number of award winners have increased significantly. In particular, the school won 5 special prizes and 6 first prizes in the national finals of the Management Decision Simulation Competition. The total number of awards and the level of awards are among the best in the country. This event has become a characteristic brand event of the school.

The school has strengthened its connotation construction and taken multiple measures to improve the quality of talent training. Its social recognition and reputation have been continuously improved. In 2010, it was awarded the title of "Advanced Independent College of Anhui Province". In 2015 and 2016, it ranked among the top 4 high-level independent colleges in China for two consecutive years, among which the teaching and research efficiency, teacher innovation ability and graduate quality were all ranked in the top 5. Since 2012, the admission score line for Chinese and science majors in the province's independent colleges has ranked in the top two for 7 consecutive years, among which the admission score line for liberal arts majors has been ranked first in the province. In the past 3 years, the average registration rate of freshmen has reached more than 95%. The average annual employment rate of graduates exceeds 91%.
